Current Open Positions

Woodwind Instructor, Part-Time
The Maryland Academy of Music is currently seeking an additional woodwind instructor to provide lessons for all ages (about age 8 and up) and levels; Bachelor’s in Music or concurrent study and previous teaching experience required; Flexible and consistent availability on Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings a must; Experience teaching flute, clarinet, and sax greatly desired.


Brass Instructor, Part-Time
The Maryland Academy of Music is currently seeking a Brass instructor to provide lessons for all ages (about age 8 and up) and levels; Bachelor’s in Music or concurrent study and previous teaching experience required; Consistent availability on one weekday evening and Saturday (if possible) is important; Experience teaching trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, and tuba greatly desired.


Piano Instructor, Part-Time
The Maryland Academy of Music is currently looking for a piano instructor. Prospective instructor must be willing to build a teaching studio on at least 2 weekdays and Saturdays. Experience teaching other instruments is a plus! Instructor will provide lessons for all ages (about 5-7 and up, through teens & adults) and levels; Bachelor’s in Music or concurrent study and previous teaching experience required.


Early Childhood Music Instructor, Part-Time
The Maryland Academy of Music is expanding our daytime instruction to include preschool music classes. We need an instructor to teach groups (including parent/child groups) for kids aged 2 through 5; Bachelor’s degree and previous teaching experience required; Flexible and consistent availability on weekday mornings and Saturday (if possible) is important ; Experience teaching music readiness, rhythm, play, nursery rhymes & songs greatly desired.


Voice Instructor, Part-Time
The Maryland Academy of Music is currently looking for an additional voice instructor. Flexible and consistent availability on weekday evenings and Saturdays a must. Instructor will provide private vocal instruction for young adults approximately age 12 and older; Bachelor’s in Music or concurrent study and previous teaching experience required.


Administrative Assistant, Part Time
Music skills are not necessary, but reliability and initiative is required. Must be flexible, professional, and enjoy working with people. Attention to detail and computer skills are a must.


Although we are currently well staffed in many departments, We are GROWING! We’re anticipating a great need for additional music instructors very soon. We always accept applications to keep on file for possible future needs. Availability on a few weekday evenings and on Saturdays is usually desired. Instructor will provide lessons for all ages (5-7 and up, through teens & adults) and levels; Bachelor’s in Music or concurrent study and previous teaching experience required. We will soon be adding additional, well qualified and experienced instructors in: Guitar, Violin/Viola, Voice.
